We start with an education photoshoot at Park Lane Academy in my neighbouring town Halifax. Here is a link to their website where they are making really good use of the images. Terri from Park Lane organised the photoshoot really well. We went from area to area in half hour slots – just the way I like it. Speedy but not too speedy. The students and staff were engaged with the photoshoot. We easily managed to create relaxed, interactive reportage style images that show the great learning environment.
I was invited to the Royal Armouries in Leeds by Bonner and Hindley, a Yorkshire PR and marketing company. The Royal Armouries and New Dock Hall is Leeds’ largest purpose-built conference, events and exhibition venue. They were in need of new headshots and group photography of the events team. I set about finding a good spot in one of the meeting rooms and off we went. We ventured outside into the cold winter weather to photograph lots of group shots. I chose one of the bridges over Leeds Dock for the biggest group.

This ended up being a really fun editorial photoshoot for Grounds Management Magazine for Think Publishing. My brief was to photograph Nasa the head groundsman at Bradford Park Avenue Cricket Club. The aim was to get a potential front cover and a double page spread capturing the spirit of the day. I thought I was going to photograph a family cricket event, with matches being played on the green outside. I was thinking kids, fun stalls, tea drinking etc… However – it just shows how important it can be to be flexible and go with the flow. When I arrived, I realised it was pretty serious matches with teams from all over the North, all men and the previous wet weather meant indoor play only. Nasa was brilliant and really accommodating. He gave up lots of his time and organised for one of the teams to go onto the green for me so I could get some prettier shots. All the guys there were brilliant and so helpful. By the end of the day I felt like one of the team!

CroBio are a really interesting innovative company that may well make a massive difference to the world. Their goal is to ‘create an environmentally sustainable solution to alleviate global agricultural drought and help reverse the effects of climate change, through durable carbon drawdown.’ I met them at CroBio’s lab in Macclesfield to do a few working style shots in the lab. We then set up to do the headshots on a black background in one of the building’s communal spaces. It was the biggest space I’ve set up my studio in for a long time and it was so nice to not be squished. The empty space, with its massive glass windows and exposed pipework made a fab background for the group shot too.

Another visit to Harper Green High School in Bolton to continue to capture positive, happy, natural shots of engaged students and staff for their website and prospectus. I always have a favourite teacher on my photoshoots. This time it was the teacher in the spotty dress. She was so helpful and full of smiles and enthusiasm, which made my job really easy.

Thanks for reading. Claire 🙂
Just over a year ago I was commissioned to produce photography for Greater Manchester’s NHS CAMHS. The purpose of the photoshoot was a recruitment campaign for mental health practitioners. To photograph current practitioners in their place of work, in a positive light, enjoying their work.
Well done everyone, we’ve managed to get through the long, dark, dreary January days and into February, which is at least a little bit closer to Spring and brighter times. Just a warning to anyone squeamish - be careful scrolling down! I’m featuring a photoshoot I did for Red Cross First Aid Training...

I spent a day with a lovely family to create images for MCS Certified, my brief was to capture natural images of the family, in their home, living their lives and to have subtle references to ‘energy’. The star of the show - is such a chilled little guy who takes everything in his stride. We all worked around him, giving him space and down time whenever he needed it - he really is an amazing little person.
I spent half a day with Joe and his team at Soteria Fire Protection in Huddersfield to create branding photography for their website and general promotion and marketing. Soteria provides expert fire safety solutions across the north. We started with headshots against a mid grey background, wearing branded t-shirts of all the staff. Then moved onto more editorial style portraits of Joe
