Hi everyone! Hope you are having a lovely June so far? Welcome to my June ’25 news. I start with a trip to marketing company Mosaic Group in York. Kath Knowles, freelance brand designer, commissioned me to produce both lifestyle and headshot photography for the company’s new website.

I was invited to spend the day with Mosaic. We created some quirky fun headshots that really show the personality of the people and the company. We used three different background colours, playing around with lots of different expressions and poses. Although the office dog took it rather seriously, he does look very handsome :-). We then took a walk around a small part of Mosaic’s twenty five acre nature reserve. There, we captured shots that illustrate the beautiful surroundings and their amazing green credentials, before returning to the office to cover lots of office lifestyle and culture shots.

Last summer the British Red Cross asked me to create photography to illustrate their First Aid courses. The BRC’s marketing department organised the models, props, and locations. Most importantly, they ensured supervision by a qualified BRC first aid expert to make sure everything was done and shown correctly. It was quite an educational photoshoot for me. Hopefully, I’ve learned a few tips! This was one day of many. I’ll look forward to showing you more over the following news articles.

Another look at a few images from my photoshoot with Kirklees College. We visited the Health and Social Care Department in Huddersfield to photograph the students with the nursing mannequins. The mannequins are amazingly advanced. Students can learn all sorts of techniques in a safe and controlled environment. These images will be used for the College prospectus. Additionally, to illustrate the online pages.

I was asked by Will Stirling to help produce some lovely photography of the students at the JCB Academy in Uttoxeter. The purpose of the photoshoot was to help illustrate a history book to celebrate 15 years of the JCB Academy, which specialises in engineering and manufacturing. My brief was to capture portraits of students in the environment of the school and also to photograph the students engaged in activities – happy and focused. It’s a really amazing school and I was so impressed with the facilities on offer and the whole ethos of the school.

I still remember having to fight my way through heavy snow to reach the most isolated of venues on the moors in Marsden, Huddersfield! It was so snowy and dark that I could hardly see the building or the turn off. I was there to photography the Needi team who were having an annual team building get together...

Just over a year ago I was commissioned to produce photography for Greater Manchester’s NHS CAMHS. The purpose of the photoshoot was a recruitment campaign for mental health practitioners. To photograph current practitioners in their place of work, in a positive light, enjoying their work.
Well done everyone, we’ve managed to get through the long, dark, dreary January days and into February, which is at least a little bit closer to Spring and brighter times.
