Happy October everyone, hope you are all enjoying the Autumnal feel. Here’s a little look back on the photoshoots from this time last year.

Starting with another look at a few of the images from my time at Kirklees College in Huddersfield. I loved being in the Forensics and Criminal Investigations Department! I tried not to get too carried away with the yellow CSI tape and the fake blood, but it was quite fun to play around with. Fairly challenging to photograph the students when I could only see their eyes, but I think we made it work. We also visited Adult Education, ESOL and Uniformed Protective Services.

More images from my commercial photoshoot with the British Red Cross to illustrate their First Aid Training Courses. Doing the photography did involve picking up a few first aid tips but I really should book onto one of the BRC’s courses for a complete education. All of the photography was closely supervised and approved by a highly trained first aid practitioner who was invaluable on the photoshoot.

I visited Harper Green School in Bolton to photograph the students and staff, learning, interacting and generally enjoying school. It’s a really lovely school and it was easy to get the children involved and interested in what I was doing. The music teacher in particular was a real star who brought lots of infectious enthusiasm with him. The photography will be used to help illustrate website pages and prospectuses and to generally promote the school.

Lastly, I visited a lovely school in my home town of Huddersfield – Moor End Academy. It only took me 15 minutes to get there which was a real treat. I even bumped into a few people I know while on the photoshoot. The pupils were really easy to work with and glad to be involved. I worked with Susan, who organised the schedule and helped me on the day. We were looking to get lots of photography of the students working hard, interacting with each other and enjoying the school environment for the website and prospectus.
Just over a year ago I was commissioned to produce photography for Greater Manchester’s NHS CAMHS. The purpose of the photoshoot was a recruitment campaign for mental health practitioners. To photograph current practitioners in their place of work, in a positive light, enjoying their work.
Well done everyone, we’ve managed to get through the long, dark, dreary January days and into February, which is at least a little bit closer to Spring and brighter times. Just a warning to anyone squeamish - be careful scrolling down! I’m featuring a photoshoot I did for Red Cross First Aid Training...
CroBio are a really interesting innovative company that may well make a massive difference to the world. Their goal is to ‘create an environmentally sustainable solution to alleviate global agricultural drought and help reverse the effects of climate change, through durable carbon drawdown’. I met them at CroBio’s lab in Macclesfield...
I spent a day with a lovely family to create images for MCS Certified, my brief was to capture natural images of the family, in their home, living their lives and to have subtle references to ‘energy’. The star of the show - is such a chilled little guy who takes everything in his stride. We all worked around him, giving him space and down time whenever he needed it - he really is an amazing little person.
I spent half a day with Joe and his team at Soteria Fire Protection in Huddersfield to create branding photography for their website and general promotion and marketing. Soteria provides expert fire safety solutions across the north. We started with headshots against a mid grey background, wearing branded t-shirts of all the staff. Then moved onto more editorial style portraits of Joe
