July 12 News

Hello and welcome to my July Newsletter where we will hop back to see what was happening in January. In our house, Coronation Street is the one programme we both adore, so when Fabulous magazine commissioned me to photograph Jodie Pregner in the Rovers Return, I jumped at the chance.  Jodie starred in the ‘Street of Dreams’ musical, which seems to have hit rocky ground.  Such a shame as Jodie was so excited about it.

Introducing the worlds only Amphibious Ice Cream Van!  Neil Murgatroyd from Frederick Dairies valiantly stood in a foot of genuine Thames water for this photo-shoot.  Someone really needs to find the plug..

From the surreal to the scary.  I photographed a brave lady, whose baby daughter kept seeing a ghost she called ‘wolf man’.  After her daughter was seemingly lifted out of her cot by ‘wolf man’ Natasha quickly got him exorcised by the local priest.  All is well now…

Onto a very inspiring lady now for Prima magazine – Shirley Ellis worked in her local library for 44 years and was awarded an MBE for her services.  When the council threatened closure she headed a campaign to save the library which is now staffed by volunteers.

A lovely shoot for Woman magazine about Sue who has had a face lift.  I’m not usually a fan of the face lift look, but I thought Sue looked fantastic and very natural.  I spent the next few days pulling up my forehead and ears and making faces in the mirror.

Another fab shoot for Woman with Claire, who has beaten depression.  She talked openly about the experience making her into a better person.

I love these ‘In the Closet’ shoots for S magazine.  This time we featured Chelsee Healey who was fresh out of Strictly Come Dancing.  Chelsee was a joy to photograph and had some wonderful outfits to choose from.

That’s all for now, enjoy the fantastic weather. x

Hello everyone, I hope you are well and coping with all the challenges.  Like almost all photographers and many self employed professions, my work dried up just before lockdown.  I took on the new role of homeschooling my two children, caught up on all my admin and tried to stay sane.

I met Joe Turner at the Co-op head office in Manchester to photograph the '10 minutes with' feature for the Food magazine. Of course these features take about 2 hour's rather than 10 minutes to shoot. Joe was lovely and patient, allowing me to shoot several different options, so the picture editor had plenty of choice.
