Hi everyone – I’m starting my May ’23 news post by jumping back to last year, where I had a mini trip round the UK to photograph a recruitment campaign for EE. With marketing agency SMRS heading the campaign and working alongside videographers, we visited stores in Manchester, Bristol and London, photographing the staff who work there. It was important to capture natural looking shots showing staff enjoying their work at EE and to make sure people’s personalities shone through. We had a really great bunch of EE people to work with.
iseePR are lovely to work for – very welcoming and relaxed and based just next door to ‘Steph’s Packed lunch’ in Leeds – so I managed to have a little peep in the window…
A big group shot often involves a bit of furniture rearranging and everyone was hands on helping me to set up the shot until I was happy. The rest of the time was spent documenting office life. Images like these are perfect for websites and social media in order to convey who your company and your people are.
AHR, an Architecture and Building Consultancy practise, commissioned me for a series of photoshoots around the country to photograph their people and the working environment. The images were mainly to help populate their new website but can also be used for social media and print. Here are a few of my favourites from the Manchester office.
This was a lovely shoot for OK magazine with Amy Walsh from Emmerdale. Amy was throwing a baby shower for her family and friends and my job was to get a cover shot and lots of other posed shots with the Emmerdale cast. It was a really nice, happy do, but of course it was a real party and very busy so I took my ‘assistant’ Julie along to help me herd people into the right place. This was such a long time ago, baby Bonnie Mae is probably walking by now!
Over to York now for an editorial photoshoot for Grazia Magazine. Alison Chesterton was on hair and make up and we photographed Sophia for an article about relationships. We were blessed with good weather, so basically took a walk around a natural area near to Sophia’s home and we managed to get several different set ups and a few changes of clothes so the picture editor had lots of options to choose from.
MCS sent me to Middlesbrough to photograph Matrix Energy, to illustrate a case study on air source heat pumps. The photoshoot was at an RSPB Sanctuary and although it was January and very cold we did have good light to play with which is always a gift. Air source heat pumps are not the most glamorous of things to look at and it was also quite a small, tight, confined area, so not the easiest of shoots but the guys were very willing and embraced the commercial photoshoot wholeheartedly.
Lastly, I really enjoyed spending the day at St Nicholas Catholic Primary School in Leeds to photograph the children for their website. The kids were great and really happy and enthusiastic to be involved. A lovely school.
Bye for now.
I had fun photographing husband and wife, Sam and Samuel - who own Sweet Squared in Leeds. Sweet Squared is home to beauty and hair products and also training for industry professionals.
Welcome to my June newsletter - I hope you are all well. We kick off with my photoshoot at communications company, Scriba, in my home town of Huddersfield. Scriba is housed in one of the towns many old mills and they have decorated their office beautifully.

MCS is a renewable energy certification company. This lifestyle photoshoot in Chorley was to form a case study to illustrate a family who have had a ground source heat pump installed. To feature the engineer and how the family use the energy it provides in their home. Really lovely family who made us all very welcome.
This was a lovely relaxed editorial photoshoot for Good Housekeeping Magazine down in Derbyshire. I went along to the George Pub in Ashbourne, to photograph the landlady Siobhan, for a feature about living sustainably.
