November brought a mix of editorial magazine assignments, celebrity portraiture and human-interest photography projects across the UK. Here’s a look at the month’s highlights. I’m so relieved that all my shoots have been indoors. No cold toes, dripping nose and no frozen fingers (as yet anyway – you’re probably all waiting for December – eek!). November was a busy month for me photographing stolen husbands, a gastric band family, Hollyoaks actresses and babies who can read.
Last May (on a lovely warm Spring day), I met Kate Lambert and her daughter Lille for an S Magazine shoot. Lille was diagnosed with epilepsy two years ago and Kate went on to write a book aimed at children ‘Can I tell you about Epilepsy?’

The title of this next shoot for Grazia is quite shocking – ‘I’ve made £20,000 from rinsing men’!. Holly Henderson, who featured in channel 4’s ‘The Rise of the Rinsers’, uses social media to strike up friendships with men who then shower her with gifts! Holly was quite jittery as she had been receiving death threats since the programme aired, however she really switched it on for the camera and was a pleasure to work with.

I really enjoyed meeting Caroline and her husband Tony for an S Magazine shoot. Caroline has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s’s since 2009. To be honest, I was expecting a difficult shoot but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Caroline entertained me with stories from her high flying career and her current activities with a local choir and rambling group. Tony is a lovely patient and caring man and they clearly enjoy their lives together (plus there were chocolate biscuits on offer!)

That’s all for now, enjoy your weekend. Claire xx
I spent a day with a lovely family to create images for MCS Certified, my brief was to capture natural images of the family, in their home, living their lives and to have subtle references to ‘energy’. The star of the show - is such a chilled little guy who takes everything in his stride. We all worked around him, giving him space and down time whenever he needed it - he really is an amazing little person.
I spent half a day with Joe and his team at Soteria Fire Protection in Huddersfield to create branding photography for their website and general promotion and marketing. Soteria provides expert fire safety solutions across the north. We started with headshots against a mid grey background, wearing branded t-shirts of all the staff. Then moved onto more editorial style portraits of Joe
I visited a lovely school in my home town of Huddersfield - Moor End Academy. The pupils were really easy to work with and glad to be involved. I worked with Susan, who organised the schedule and helped me on the day. We were looking to get lots of photography of the students working hard, interacting with each other and enjoying the school environment...
Harper Green School is part of Leverhulme Academy Trust and we worked together to create positive, happy and natural shots of the pupils engaged in lessons and interacting with each other. Occasionally adding in a posed portrait that will work really well alongside a quote or a case study in the prospectus.
I was invited to spend the day with Mosaic to create some quirky fun headshots that really show the personality of the people and the company. We used 3 different background colours and played around with different expressions and poses and although the office dog took it rather seriously, he does look very handsome :-).
