July News

Hello all. Here is my July newsletter where we start with a train trip to London with SMRS for a commercial photoshoot for Total Jobs. Getting the train and tube with all of my equipment and an overnight bag is always a challenge and a bit of a stress but it’s better than the craziness of driving into Central London and at least I get to chill and read a good book on the journey. This commercial photoshoot was to create content for Total Jobs recruitment part of the website and for social media. Lots of volunteers were pre organised and took part in the office lifestyle shots. This type of photoshoot is always fun and jam packed, moving from scenario to scenario around the space, giving lots of direction to people and making sure that the spaces look good.  You can see more of this photoshoot here.

Off to Peterborough next, to visit the home of the famous Sergi for a Compare the Market photoshoot with SMRS. The main part of the shoot involved setting up a studio with a white background and photographing our volunteers separately and then interacting with each other to be used in a recruitment campaign. It was a really fun studio shoot as we wanted to convey the enthusiasm, joy and energy of the people that work at CTM. We used any spare time to get some office lifestyle images in the bag.

Another visit to MCS in Cheshire to keep them up to date with their headshots. I really love this blue background and it even works when people wear blue 🙂 There are so many colours to choose from for headshots on plain colours. Or you can choose to use parts of the building or even brave the outdoors. I always get a warm welcome at MCS, so look forward to my visits.

Lastly, an editorial photoshoot for Good Housekeeping Magazine over in York. I photographed Lisa Bryne to illustrate an article about her personal journey. Make up artist Jade and I were made very welcome and really enjoyed chatting to Lisa who is the ex editor of OK Magazine and has written a screenplay. On the way to the loo I noticed pics of Lisa with all the celebrities you can think of. We did two set ups for the photoshoot, firstly I set up a studio and photographed Lisa in a directors chair and then we went outside into a field and photographed Lisa and her dog in a more natural environment. Her husband took on the very important role of ‘grass flattener’ so we could see just enough of them both 🙂

I really enjoyed photographing Christine and her garden for WI Life magazine. She’s a lovely lady who clearly loves her gardening. There were so many fun things to discover like the ‘green lady’ and the signs made out of broken tiles, the birdhouses and the vegetable patch
