I met Tom and Nicola to photograph them for a You magazine feature.  Their lives were turned upside down 17 years ago when Tom contracted sepsis and had to have all of his limbs amputated in order to survive.  I arrived a little early, knocked on the door and I have to admit I was surprised that it was Tom who walked up and opened the door and showed me into the kitchen.  There’s nothing better than having your expectations challenged.  The article co-incided with the launch of the film ‘Starfish’ which tells their amazing and moving story. Sepsis symptoms.  Starfish trailer.  (more…)

Spring newsletter

Hello Spring

Last Saturday was spent photographing Mr Bloom in the morning and a naturist campsite in the afternoon!  And that is why I never get bored of my job…
Luckily for the nudists Spring has arrived and warmed the weather a little so nothing turned blue or dropped off.

A Happy New Year

Hello everyone and a very late Happy New Year!  Welcome to my newsletter which looks back to last May and June and kicks off with a really enjoyable shoot for Sainsbury’s Money Matters magazine with Seven.  They do say never work with animals or children, so to put the two together just seemed like asking for trouble, however this shoot was quite literally a walk in the park – very chilled.  Gorgeous weather, beautiful location, and my two models were little well behaved stars – Rosie and her dog Rusty a Hungarian Vizsla.

November news

Hello everyone, hope you are all keeping well.  Here is my newsletter looking back six months up to April and starts with a shoot for ‘VIP’, the Pets at Home magazine.  I photographed Michelle Turnbull over in Blackpool for a feature about her business ‘The Barking Bakery’ where she makes healthy amazing looking treats for dogs.  Michelle sent me home laden with her baking which brought a new meaning to the term doggy bag :-)

Last Tango in Halifax?

Hurrah for Northern drama!

There has been so much fantastic drama set in the North lately, one of which is ‘Last Tango in Halifax’ by Red Production Company. The love story at the heart of Last Tango was inspired by writer Sally Wainwright’s mother Dorothy. I’m a big fan of the show so I was really pleased when I was asked to go and photograph Dorothy over in Bridlington. I was made very welcome by Dorothy and she really is an inspiring lady with a very moving story. Here is the full story. Or click here to see more editorial portraits.
